  • The Mobile Education Unit is FZS led and travels to schools around Bukit Tigapuluh NP to teach children about the importance of nature. By playing games, the children gets to experience the forest through all senses (except taste). They learn that nature is not a place to fear and the importance of not littering. The teachers of the classes are also taught so that they can do this education themselves in the future. Here is a class from School No.67/VIII in Maura Sekalo, Sumatra, Indonesia.   • An immobilised Black Rhino being handled by Markus Hofmeyr, Natasha Anderson and David Squarre in North Luangwa National Park, Zambia. Blood and tissue samples were taken as well as monitoring of the temperature, the body was measured and a little chip for identification was fitted under the skin. The rhino was fitted with a radio transmitter in the horn by Ed Sayer and Ernst Jacobs. This was done by drilling a hole in the horn for the transmitter and a smaller but long connecting hole from the top for the antenna. Once the transmitter was in there, the space around it was closed up by glue. During the whole operations oxygen was fed to the rhino through a tube in its nose. The helicopter pilot Glenton Combes helped out as much as he could. © Daniel Rosengren

They can also borrow money with interest for startup or equipment investments in eco-friendly businesses.
